How it works
We take moulds or a scan to make whitening trays that fit your teeth closely. You wear them at home with a prescribed gel, following our instructions, for a set period. The trays are yours to keep for occasional top-ups.
If your teeth are stained rather than naturally dark, a professional clean and stain removal may be all you need.
Before you whiten
- Whitening doesn't change the colour of fillings, crowns or veneers.
- Some people feel temporary sensitivity; we'll advise you how to reduce it.
- By law, whitening stronger than 0.1% hydrogen peroxide can only be provided by a dentist, or on a dentist's prescription, and not to under-18s except to treat disease.
NHS or private?
Teeth whitening is private treatment. Your dentist will always explain the options and give you a written estimate before treatment starts. How NHS charges and private fees work.

Questions people ask
Is whitening safe?
When it's prescribed and supervised by a dentist, after checking your teeth and gums, it's considered safe for most people. We'll check it's suitable for you first.
Can I whiten if I have crowns?
Your natural teeth will lighten but crowns won't, so we'll talk about how to keep things matching.
