At your check-up
- Your teeth: decay, cracks, wear and the state of any fillings or crowns.
- Your gums: early signs of gum disease, which often doesn't hurt at first.
- Your mouth: tongue, cheeks, lips and throat, including a mouth cancer screen.
- X-rays, only when they're needed to see what the eye can't.
Straight answers
We'll tell you what we've found and what, if anything, needs doing. If you need treatment, you'll get a written plan showing what's NHS and what's private, with costs, before you agree to anything.
Your dentist will also suggest how often to come back, based on your own mouth.
Getting here
Boclair is on Milngavie Road across from the Asda petrol station, a short walk from Hillfoot station. There's limited free parking on site and more across the road, and both surgeries are on the ground floor with ramped access.
NHS or private?
NHS examinations are free for everyone in Scotland. Your dentist will always explain the options and give you a written estimate before treatment starts. How NHS charges and private fees work.
Questions people ask
Do I pay for an NHS check-up?
No. In Scotland, NHS dental examinations are free for everyone. Charges may apply for treatment, unless you're exempt.
Can I get an evening appointment?
Our latest appointments are until 6.30pm on Mondays and 6pm on Tuesdays. Ask when you call and we'll do our best to fit you in.
I haven't been to a dentist for years. Is that a problem?
Not at all. Lots of people come back after a long gap. We'll start with a check-up, no judgement, and plan from there.
