Emergency questions

Which problems are emergencies?

Facial swelling, bleeding that won't stop, injuries to the teeth or mouth, and severe pain that isn't controlled by painkillers.

What can I do for toothache tonight?

Take painkillers as directed on the packet. Avoid very hot, cold or sweet food on that side. If the pain is severe or there's swelling, call NHS 24 on 111.

My crown has come off. Is that an emergency?

Usually not, if there's no pain. Keep the crown safe and call us when we're open to arrange a time to recement it.
